This project was for Relationships Australia QLD, who needed a cute, playful character to help connect with a younger audience. The character would be used across their learning services, advertising and website, acting as a simple way to show the different emotions someone might feel.

During the concept and design phase, we explored 27 variations to nail down the style: a rounded soft body, little outlined hands and feet, and a messy scribble of hair that instantly showed the emotion the character was feeling. Once we locked in those traits, I illustrated 25 emotional poses ranging from sad and frustrated to jumping for joy. From that set, we selected five key emotions to animate and bring to life.
